With all the 75 new pumps operating, KWSB would save $1.15 million annually in energy costs. The programme aims to facilitate 25,000 households in the first phase. Dodman talking to sources said that: “the U.S government has a proud history of supporting both the water and power sectors in Pakistan. The most important sector for civilian assistance is the energy sector and the project will, increase overall water security.”
