Terror bid foiled second day in a row

Police foiled yet another terror bid by defusing a 10 kilogramme bomb in the Bara Sheikhan area on Wednesday. According to details, the police found the bomb attached to a bicycle parked near a flour mill located in the Bara Sheikhan area of the provincial capital. Following the discovery, the bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called in. The BDS personnel defused the bomb after hectic efforts of three hours. Police said the bomb would have caused huge losses had it exploded. BDS chief Shafqat Malik told the reporters the miscreants had installed three systems in the bomb. If one system fails to work, the others would ensure the explosion. He said that timely action had foiled the terrorists’ plans. On Tuesday, two bombs weighing 5kg were found and defused from the same locality.
