NAB approves voluntary return of Rs 12.5 million

NAB on Thursday approved Voluntary Return (VR) of Rs 12.5 million in a case of embezzlement of funds against officers of ‘clean drinking water for all’ project (CDWT).
Approval was accorded in Executive Board meeting of NAB held under the chairmanship of Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bokhari. Funds allotted for the purification of water in Baluchistan.
NAB also decided to authorize complaint verification in a case against officials of Pakistan Engineering Council
Multan, allegedly involved in embezzlement and misappropriation of millions of rupees in procurement and installation of five solar energy systems imported from China.
The solar energy systems were procured to install in Baha ud Din Zakaria University Multan and few mausoleums in the vicinity.
The case was referred by Human Rights Cell, Supreme Court of Pakistan to NAB.
NAB also decided to close an investigation in a case against Amir Ali Malik, Ex-DG PTCL due to lack of incremental evidence who was charged with accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.
