Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, Fayyaz Ahmed Leghari said on Tuesday that installation of surveillance cameras in the metropolis was in the final stages.
He was talking to the participants of the 97th National Management Course who visited the Central Police Office (CPO).
The IGP said that in the initial phase, 50 wireless cameras, 60 automated number plate readers, 164 PTZ cameras and 656 fixed cameras were being installed.
He stated that in the next phase, video surveillance system would be expanded.
Leghari also informed that steps were being taken for the introduction of the vehicle tracking system technology and the establishment of the FM Radio Station.
“The nation-wide police-to-police trunk call system would also be introduced soon,” the IGP added.
