Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday adjourned till today (Thursday) hearing of petition filed against the appointment of new chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA).
IHC single bench comprising Justice Muhammad Anwar Kashi took up the petition filed by former chairman CDA Farkhand Iqbal against the appointment of new chairman for hearing.
Counsel for the petitioner told the court that government had inducted a new officer as chairman CDA after they filed the petition therefore, he would file new petition after the appointment of new chairman is notified.
Court observed petition had been filed therefore; he should give his arguments on it. The counsel for petitioner requested the court he had not made preparations in connection with hearing therefore, he be allowed some time on this count. The court while allowing him time put off the hearing till today.
Former chairman CDA Farkhand Iqbal had taken plea in his petition that chairman is appointed for 5 years while government has dismissed him before 5 years term without assigning any reason.
