The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday rejected a report submitted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over filing of a reference against the appointment of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Chairman Tauqir Sadiq. According to details, a three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case regarding Sadiq’s appointment. During the hearing, the chief justice remarked that NAB does not need to undertake any sort of investigations in the wake of a judicial order. However, NAB’s prosecutor general said the bureau abides by the NAB Ordinance. The hearing has been adjourned until today (Tuesday).
