‘LG ordinance to unleash a new chapter of progress’

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain Monday said that with passing of the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance 2012 a new leaf should be turned over, and a new chapter of progress and development should begin by ending uncalled-for opposition of the local government system, a statement said.
He also praised President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Governor Sindh Dr Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, and elected representatives of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the PPP for making tireless efforts in the preparation of this ordinance and getting it passed from the Sindh Assembly.
Altaf Hussain said that the local government system was the true essence of democracy, and its opponents were against ‘government of the people’.
He said that the developed countries of the world were moving ahead on the path of peace, progress and prosperity by adopting the local government system.
Altaf said it was the need to of the hour to use this system in the larger interest of the public and for determining new ways of making progress.

  1. It is not government for the people but in fact establishing a fiefdom with the help of traitors who have betrayed Sindhis without whose votes they could never have formed the government. Altaf Hussain continues to mastermind thuggish activities and getting away scot free with the help of Zardari who do not have pride or conscience and is using state machinery to protect these thugs

  2. Altaf will now unleash more thugs to keep Karachi under his thumb and traitor Zardari will be sulking away something he brought upon himself. A coward Sindhi leader never seen in the history of the country and misusing and exploiting names of Shaheeds.

  3. mqm has become more powerful in the tenure of PPP government.
    If there was a rule of law, Ishrat Ibad should have been languishing in jail. Mustafa Kamal should have been under trial for misappropriation of billions of rupees which he claims to have spent on the so called beautification of Karachi, Babar Ghauri who has become a millionaire would be facing a tribunal. So that is the history of MQM which claims to be composed of honest middle class people. Altaf should have been facing firing squad for his crimes against humanity.
