Imran Khan all set to take peace mission to South Waziristan: Qayyum

Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) leader and former minister Malik Abdul Qayyum on Monday said that all eyes are on Imran Khan as he is all set to take his peace mission against drone attacks to South Waziristan.
Qayyum said that on this peace mission, Imran Khan will have an opportunity to give a strong message to the world from Waziristan that the majority of people in that area are peaceful and they do not support the militants. He said that Imran Khan’s stance on the war on terror and military operations in the tribal areas is well known to everyone. Qayyum added that Imran Khan had always stressed for a dialogue instead of using force. Qayyum said a 30 member US civil society delegation headed by former US ambassador Anne Wright has reached Islamabad to join Imran Khan’s Waziristan rally. This delegation will also present a petition signed by thousands of US citizens condemning drone attacks to Charge d’ affaires Ambassador Richard Hoagland at the US Embassy in Islamabad. Qayyum said added PTI Chairman Imran Khan has very rightly said, “These campaigners against the war are here to raise their voice against atrocities. Anti-Americanism will reduce when people like them visit Pakistan.”
