Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Monday said Balochistan was one of the top most priorities of his government and he was taking personal interest in raising the standard of living of the people of the province.
Talking to Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani, who called him at the Prime Minister’s House, Ashraf reiterated that he had directed all federal agencies to cooperate with the provincial administration in tracing the missing persons. He said he had directed the Balochistan chief secretary to comply with the orders of eth Supreme Court in its true letter and spirit.
He said the federal government was eager to develop the province and had approved a special package for the purpose, adding that the Ministry of Finance had been directed to release all requisite funds for the completion of the ongoing projects in Balochistan on a priority basis.
Ashraf said he had ordered the release of Rs 6 billion for the completion of Kachhi Canal on which the work was now being taken up on a fast-track basis.
He said the early completion of all these projects and the employment of the Baloch youth would help bring prosperity to the area.
The chief minister thanked the prime minister for the support of the federal government and the personal interest of the prime minister in the development of the province.
