President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Yasin Azad has said that they are satisfied with the Supreme Court proceedings on the Swiss letter case and hoped that the issue would be resolved amicably. However he said if the matter is not settled, it would be bad luck for the country and democracy. In an interview on Saturday, SCBA president said that some people want to increase levels of confrontation between the executive and judiciary and they wanted this issue to linger on. Azad said given the progress of the matter between the Supreme Court and the government, there was hope that it would be resolved soon. If the issue was not resolved, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf would be charged with contempt of court and he will have to leave the office, he said. He said tension would increase between the state institutions if another PM was sent packing which would be dangerous for democracy.
