Federal government has hinted at giving the prerogatives of legislation regarding Provincially Administered Tribal Areas (PATA) to the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sources said that the decision is expected in the light of recommendations of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In this way, instead of President Zardari, the right of legislation will reside with the provincial assembly.
The green signal for making amendments for transferring the right of legislation about PATA to provincial assembly had been given to the provincial government. Afterwards, the provincial government had recommended the central government to make the relevant constitutional amendments.
After the constitutional amendments by the Center, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will have the rights to do legislation regarding PATA.
