ARY reporter shot dead in Khuzdar


Abdul Haq Baloch, a reporter of ARY News and general secretary of Khuzdar Press Club, was killed in his hometown on Saturday.
According to police, unidentified armed motorcyclists sprayed Haq’s car with bullets on Chakar Khan Road when he was returning home. He received serious injuries and died on the spot. Soon after the incident, police rushed to the area and shifted the body to local hospital. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident. Police have registered a case against the assailants and investigations are underway.
Meanwhile, Balochistan Union of Journalists President Esa Tareen and Secretary General Hamadullah strongly condemned the killing of another journalist and demanded the government arrest the culprits.
In a statement, the BUJ office bearers said “anti-journalism elements” who had already gunned down five reporters in Khuzdar, had wiped another one out. It said the journalist community of Khuzdar had been threatened by groups for their role in bringing the facts before the public.
