Pakistan People’s Party Secretary General Senator Jahangir Badr said on Friday that President Asif Ali Zardari had proved himself to be a Muslim world leader by presenting a clear stance on the blasphemous movie, Palestine and Kashmir in his address to the UN General Assembly. Jahngir expressed these views in a meeting with a delegation of labor leaders on Friday. He said that the president had presented solid arguments on the movie and had rightly demanded a ban on it, adding that he had also insisted on legislation against insulting Islam. “President Zardari has proved that the PPP leadership has a universal vision and cannot be browbeaten. It was the PPP that Islamized the constitution, notified Friday as a weekly holiday, declared Ahmedis non-Muslim and had formed Islamic Ideological Council,” he added.
He said that PPP had always proved that it loved Islam and its workers and leadership could even sacrifice their lives for it.
