Need for developing tourism stressed

Rehabilitation of historic monuments, cultural heritage sights and recreational places need to be done on an urgent basis to promote tourism in the country said Sindh Minister for Tourism, Muhammad Ali Malkani.
Ali Malkani.was addressing a gathering as chief guest at a ceremony held in connection with the World Tourism Day.
Malkani said that 1.2 million tourists visit Keenjhar Lake every year. He added that Gorakh Hill is also an attractive spot for the tourists but the ministry does not have funds to pave roads leading up to the hills. The event was held under the auspices of the Sindh Tourism Development Corporation (STDC). The Managing Director of the Corporation, Manzoor Kanasro, and Sindh Secretary Tourism, Naseer Jamali, also spoke on the occasion. Later, Malkani distributed certificates among the students who attended certificate courses offered by the Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management.
