Three committees have been formed for the commercialization of new roads in Rawalpindi.
A meeting of Planning and Design committee was held in the commissioner’s office the other day. Teams comprising officials of TMA, City District Government and Highway Department were formed to conduct surveys for the conversion of new roads.
These teams visited Kalar Saidain, Taxilla and Kahota and decided that a notification of commercialization of the new road would be issued soon.
However, road commercialization has been banned in Murree and Kotli Sityan.
Commercialization of the Chakary Road in Potohar Town was also suggested but was rejected in the meeting. After completion of the surveys, notification of conversion of new roads for commercialization would be finalized on today.
