Students of Government High School Islampura protested against Principal Zafar Shahzad, accusing him of sexually molesting students. The students alleged that Zafar Shahzad was a chronic molester and used to promise students academic distinctions if they gave into his demands and maintained secrecy.
Police told Pakistan Today that it had received no complaint in this regard from either any victim or parents.
Sources, meanwhile, told Pakistan Today that members of a powerful land mafia had taken possession of an empty plot on the periphery of the school compound and the principal was making efforts to get the property vacated from their possession. They said that members of the school staff believed that the land mafia was behind the allegations against the principal in order to secure his suspension or transfer from the school. Pakistan Today made repeated attempts to get Zafar Shahzad’s comments but he was unavailable.
