Awami National Party (ANP) minister would sit on the treasury benches in Sindh Assembly (SA) even after tendering resignation over the new local government system in the province, a spokesman of the party told media on Thursday.
He said the ANP did not submit any application to the speaker for allotting the seats on opposition benches in SA, while other parties who also resigned from the government, including PML-Q, National Party and PML-F, had applied for sitting on opposition benches.
The ANP spokesman said further that only the party minister would not sit on opposition benches as the negotiations were going on between PPP and ANP on the issue of local bodies system in Sindh and it might be possible that he took the resignation back in case of reconciliation between both the parties.

system, bounty issue: President of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Khan has called the meeting of the party leaders at Peshawar which would be convened after his return from USA, ANP senior leader Zahid Khan said on Thursday.
Khan said in meeting would be discussed the new local government ordinance in Sindh and the situation that arose after the head money of the blasphemous filmmaker announced by Federal Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilor.
Zahid Khan said further that leadership of the party would review the offer made by President Zardari to remove apprehensions of the ANP regarding new ordinance of local bodies in Sindh.
“Bilor will also be asked to clarify his position regarding his statement about the bounty in the meeting,” he added.
