Senator Faisal Raza Abidi, parliamentary leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), on Thursday recorded his statement with Islamabad Police in connection with his press conference about Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and his son, Dr Arsalan Iftikhar.
In his statement, Abidi said he stood by the allegations he had made against the CJP and his son on TV talk shows and conversations with the media. He denied being part of any campaign against the chief justice.
However, the ruling party’s leader said the CJP had been taking suo motu notices over “minor issues such as recovery of wine bottles and slaps of Waheeda Shah”, but was not taking notice of the killing of Pakistan Army personnel, rape of women in Parachinar, and the killing of Shia community members.
He said that he was not intending to humiliate the chief justice and his son, but wanted “their reformation” and supremacy of law in the country.

    • These remarks about the Chief Justice of Pakistan are highly unwarranted, uncalled for and unjustified. The contributions of the superior judiciary and in particular of Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry are well received and well respected in the western world. The measures taken have made a humongous contribution in the right direction for the people of Pakistan.

  1. This pauper who rose from a poor male nurse/ assistant in Anklesaria Hospital of Karachi to a crook and cronie of AZ rising from rags to riches should look at himself in the mirror before making comments on the Chief Justice, who has international credibility and recognition.

    • Truth bites all, from Faisal Raza Abidi to CJP. It has the same character of biting all who do wrongs and then try to hide!

      • I am not supporter of anybody blonging to this F**U**C**K**E**D nation of Pakistan.
You people are F**U**C**K**E**D by your leaders dry i.e. most painful manner. Looks like you throughly enjoy getting F**U**C**K**E**D.

  2. If we look objectively at the allegations made by Faisal Raza Abidi, they carry a lot of weight. Chaudhry has been taking notice even light comments and the fact that he has not yet summoned Abidi on contempt charges speaks volumes about authenticity of allegations.

  3. Is free speech being curtailed by the guardian of free speech viz the judiciary?.Is CJ above the law?Is Abdi going to be made a scape goat ?Is the CJ using his office to silence his critics is his office being used for personal" protection"?Why has the CJ got cold feet, is there something to hide?.Too many questions but no answers from CJ or his office -the people of this country need answers.

  4. The CJ is not responsible for the acts of his son, who alongwith Riaz Malik are guilty of crimes. However A to Z and his corrupt cronies are certianly responsible for their corruption, destroying our economy, our energy sector, PIA, PSM, OGDC, PSO, PASSCO, OEBI, Railways, NHA etc etc etc.

    • Why arew u imposing double standards for the same sitiations? Hypocrisy must end now. How come CJ did nt know aby acts of his son having his business address as CJ house(which is very difficult to show on bank accounts becoz of so much security protocol). Economy is being destroyed coz SC has put all govt functions on hold for last 4 yrs to support political planning of PMLN.

  5. i am not in favor of faisal raza abidi.. but thats true CJP takes action even you slapped a person on the road.. but on major issue he is silent..
