9 more perish to violence

Nine persons including an activist of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jammat (ASWJ) were killed in the ongoing wave of targeted killing in the city on Thursday, raising the figure up to 123 in last ten days. On the other hand, CID police arrested three suspects and also recovered weapons from their custody.
Majlis Wahdat Ammal also protested, during a sit in, at Nomaish Chowrangi for the arrest of killers of their activists.
According to details, unknown persons killed a person in New Karachi and fled the scene. Body of the deceased, identified as Ansar Imam, was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. Police said he was a mutwalli of Imam Bargah and was returning home when unknown attackers hit him.
In the jurisdiction of Mithadar police station, an unknown person attacked a unit office of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), which killed an activist on the spot while another was seriously injured.
In a separate incident, a person was killed by unknown persons in the jurisdiction of Baloch Colony police station. Police said the deceased was identified as Molana Kaleemullah and had suffered bullet injuries when returning to his home situated in Malir. His body was shifted to Jinnah Hospital. Five other persons were also killed in different areas of the city. A man, Saddique, was killed in Buffer zone, Qasim at Aisha Manzil, an unknown in Defence, Abdul Rehman in Baldia and an activist of MQM in Orangi Town were also killed by unknown persons.
On the other hand CID police conducted raid at Korangi and arrested Nadeem, Shoukat Ali and Khuda Bux. Police recovered 2 TT pistols and a revolver from their custody. They also recovered two vehicles. The suspects told about their involvement in more than 100 cases of car snatching and robberies.
