At least three personnel of security forces were killed and 14 others injured when unidentified militants attacked a Frontier Corps (FC) convoy in Shewa area of North Waziristan Agency on Wednesday. Officials in Miranshah said the militants attacked the security forces convoy with hand grenades and heavy weapons. Following the attack, three helicopters reached Shewa from Miranshah and targeted militant hideouts and compounds. No further details were available. Official said several contingents of security forces also rushed to Shewa for bringing the situation under control. Shewa is adjacent to Thall area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kurram and Orakzai agencies, where militants are said to have a strong presence.
