At least six more persons were shot dead in the ongoing wave of violence in the provincial metropolis here on Thursday.
According to police, in a latest incident, a man was shot dead in a firing incident that occurred in Adam Basti of Mehmoodabad area of the city.
Earlier, a man was shot dead in a firing incident that occurred in Orangi Town. In Yousuf Goth, Baldia Town, a young man was also shot dead.
In a separate incident, unidentified gunmen entered a sweet shop at Ayesha Manzil and started firing, killing Qasim Ali. He was resident of Liaquatabad.
Sidiq Jan was killed in a firing incident near People’s Chowrangi, North Nazimabad.
A tortured dead body of a youth was found from Khayaban-e-Rahat, Defence.
Meanwhile, police and Rangers arrested more than 40 suspects during a search operation in Karachi’s violence-hit areas Wednesday night.
Police conducted a targeted operation in Gulbahar area and apprehended over 40 suspected persons from the area. Security forces also cordoned off the area during the search operation.
All the held persons were transferred to undisclosed location for investigation.
