The interior ministers’ conference held under the umbrella of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) has approved a resolution against the blasphemous American movie. Interior Minister Rehman Malik had the privilege of presenting the resolution at the fifth meeting of the SAARC home/interior ministers, which was inaugurated by Maldives Vice President Mohamed Waheed Deen at Bandos Island Resort, denouncing the movie. In the resolution, Malik demanded all Muslim countries frame laws to stop blasphemy, as it harmed the spirit of inter-faith harmony. He condemned the hate film on behalf of the entire Muslim world demanding action against those committing blasphemy. Talking to government-run television channel afterwards, Malik noted that Pakistan was the only country that raised voice against the movie on the platform of the United Nations.
