CNG stations closed for 4rth consecutive day in Lahore

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations in Lahore remained closed on Thursday for the fourth consecutive day after observing a three-day scheduled gas load shedding due to technical fault at Qadirpur Gas Field.
According to the sources, the CNG stations were due to resume the supply on Thursday at 6 am after a three-day weekly gas load shedding but the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) issued orders to the CNG station owners to stop the supply for indefinite period following the closure of Qadirpur Gas Field on account of technical fault.
“The gas field is suffering from the shortage of almost 400 million cubic feet,” an SNGPL official said..
Few stations remained open in the city as they did not receive any notification from the SNGPL authority, sources told.
On the other hand, commuters faced severe difficulties due to the non-availability of CNG. Long queues of vehicles were witnessed at stations where CNG was supplied.
CNG stations in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal and Multan were closed at 6:00 am on Monday for 72 hours.
Amid emergency situation, gas supply to the industries was already suspended across the province to continue uninterrupted supply to the domestic sector.
A spokesman for the SNGPL that the fault could not be fully removed from the Qadirpur gas field.
