Former Balochistan Chief Minister and leader of the BNP (Mengal) Sardar Akhtar Mengal has said that before initiating a meaningful process of conflict resolution it is imperative that the Government of Pakistan should take and practically implement some measures which are must to build a conducive atmosphere for Baloch reconciliation process.
In a written statement before the Supreme Court here on Thursday, Mr Akhtar Mengal proposed a six point formula demanding that all covert and overt military operations against the Baloch should immediately be suspended and all missing persons should be produced before a court of law.
He said all proxy death squads operating under the supervision of Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) should be disbanded.
Mengal said all Baloch political parties should be allowed to function and resume their political activities without any interference from intelligence agencies.
He said Persons responsible for inhuman torture, killing and dumping of dead bodies of the Baloch political leaders and activists should be brought to justice and measures should be taken for the rehabilitation of thousands of displaced Baloch living in appalling condition.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal said after taking the above mentioned confidence building measures, a meaningful negotiation between the recognized and genuine representatives of the Baloch and military establishment could take place to decide the future relationship of Balochistan.

  1. The pre-conditions set by Akhtar Mengal are reasonable. Before taking all these measures, it is imperative that civilian supremacy must be established. Unfortunately, it does not seem possible. This qualitative change can only take place if all political parties, judiciary, media and civil society work on a one point agenda in a coherent manner according to the Constitution in its true spirit. There were high hopes after 2008 elections. Those hopes were dashed because everybody tried to gain maximum power. In the process, Army Establishment remains as powerful as ever. It used everybody for the perpetuation of its power.

  2. I agree..The military must be reined in…The general have used Indian bogey to loot the country but cannot even defend it when the real enemy attacks (May2, salala). They are killng people on waziristan and balochistan.

  3. Who is going to ask him, about the activities that are taking place under him across the border by BNP. These people must be punished for the crime agains the country, whoever is doing it.

    • This was the dirty approach which resulted in Dhaka fall. he is a genuine leader and his confidence in court is a big ray of hope. The real criminal are those who are creating enemies for Pakistan due to there senescence. Pigheadedness of dictators has already broken Pakistan

  4. Its reasonable what he said. Why didn't he say this when the separatist movement was at its peak. Why our media has never reported the exact situation of Balochistan. People of Pakistan must be told that the separatists account for only 5% (maximum) of Balochistan. Our governments have always done everything for the Nawabs and Sardars of Balochistan and not for the people of Balochistan. Nevertheless a positive dialogue is always a good thing to do.

  5. Yes. Free the politicians and their croonies. Let them be free to do whatever they like. Kill all those who tried to stop them from doing crazy oppressive things. Its just bs. None of these politicians before the murderer was murdered did or even try to bring the baloch people any improvement in their lifestyles. None of them have since done anything. They acting as the oppressed just sickens me to the stomach. Educate your masses give them decent healthcare, and jobs. Then lets talk about how you would like your mercedes and land cruiser delivered.

  6. We are standing at a criticl situation, pakistan has much chalanges n ths could b the worse frm al ov the othrs, govt must take serious steps to overcme the situation of balochistan.. I agree with former chief minstr

  7. Separatist should be punished and they must behave like a true pakistanis if they are. He is very right about the missing persons and if these people are guilty, then the agencies should present them in front of court.

    • The question is that who is producing separatist? It is a criminal mindset who calls all others miscreants. Every Pakistan is patriotic not only spies of agencies who one tight their belts against US and next day start working on her pay role.

  8. These people are not sincere with us. They only want their supremacy and nothing for us. They are Baloch but not our leaders.

  9. In the 60s, our leadership brushed aside the political demands of Bengali leaders for greater autonomy. The thought prevalent then was that the demand for autonomy was secessionist in nature put forth on the behest of India. It is saddening to see that we have not learnt anything from history. It is common to hear that the Baloch nationalists are under Indian influence or that they are just a minority. When are we going to get serious and really make an effort to rectify our mistakes.
Most of our leaders and officials only worry about their tenure in office!!

  10. He’s right. without any prejudice any body being treated like we are treating Balochs is pitiable and we are with our Baloch brothera to redress their grievances.

  11. What about BNP's secret and open terror war against the people of other regions in balochistan,BLA's Bomb blasts ,murders and threats ,attack and murder of polic F.C personnels on daily basis. These people who are asking for rights are basically wants their uncalled demands to be met, like freedom to rule like mafia, rule the resources. He was the chief minister, what development he did during his tenure, what job oppurtunities he created,Some sardars, and Political leaders are actually working on behalf of cia, indian raw to psychologically subdue pakistan in the name of rights, while on other side they create barbaric acts daily by bombing the innocents people, firing at the buses, killing police and F.C,why did he not mention about the murders and bombs why only operations to be stopped against the criminals.

  12. He is right in his demands, Pakistan should engage all who are ready to negotiate at table for greater rights and why not? absolutely all should be punished who comitted crimes either its a government person or the militant! Jointly we can defeat and put an end to wet dreams of out enemies!

  13. they must first stop non state activities, they are involved in seriouse activities against the state…..they keep their own army and slaves which is not acceptable to the modren world.

  14. Mr. Mengal's demands are fair and reasonable and these demands must be be met sooner rather than later. The Government should sieze this opportunity of a reconciliation in Baluchistan, so that all Baluchis can take part in next election, freely and freely. Enough military action, it must stop now and forever. Baluchis are nationalist Pakistanis and they must have freedom to participate in national affairs fully, without fear or hindrance. Also, they should govern their province as they deem fit, no one in the GHQ OR Islamabad has the right to interfere in their affairs. More autonomy can only bring Baluchistan closer to mainstream Pakistan.

  15. I am worried to see that level of confidence between Govt and Ba£och leaders exists at a bottom line…i dont think that our running Govt. is able to take steps to address their concerns and to bring them on the negotiation table rather to lip serving. Its need of the hours, if our goverment will fail to tackel this issue, we will have to see an other Banga£..

  16. In Capital Talk last night he showed dis-respect to Qaid-e-Azam by addressing about Qaid to Hamid mir as "Bakol Ap k Qaid-e-Azam". means he does not consider him Quid-e-Azam. Shame on Hamid Mir a cheapster not being able to defend the greatest leader produced by sub-continent. shame of geo

  17. I think something has gone wrong on the part of law enforcing and intelligence agencies too, while operating against militant miscreants of Balochistan. However it is never too late to start putting things on right path. CBMs are not taken from one side, therefore, the militant miscreants should also put their weapons down to give message of peace from their side. But the government should take first step.

  18. Baluchs are the true sons of pakistan we respect them and the six points must be implemented.

    Bahadur Shah

BALUCHIS BROTHERS HAVE SUFFERED SO MUCH UNDER THE MILLITARY DICTATORS OF PAKISTAN AND THEY DEFINETELY DESERVE THE RIGHT TO FREEDOM FROM THE BRUTAL RULE OF PAKISTANI RULERS.MR AKHTER MENGALS SIX POINT DEMAND FROM THE PPP RULE IS GENUINE DEMAND.,AND PRAY BALUCHI BROTHERS FREE THEMSELVES FROM THE CLUTCHES OF CHEATING PAK RULE OF THEIR STATE.LONG LIVE BALUCHI BROTHERS .LONG LIVE BALUCH-BANGLADESHI BROTHERHOOD .JOY BANGLA.
