In order to provide better education facilities to woman, the Punjab government has started paper work to upgrade all the girls’ schools across the province.
Special advisor to chief minister, Zakia Shahnawaz and secretary woman development Iram Bukhari under Punjab Woman Improvement Package had suggested upgardation of girls’ schools during current year so as to reduce problems for women in getting education.
Sources said that the Punjab government has started paper work on the suggestion.
It should be mentioned here that around 300 higher secondary schools, 2,782 high, 5,109 middle, 22,000 primary and around 80 maktab schools are operational in Punjab.
Moreover, separate survey was underway to identify exact number of high schools which could be upgraded to higher secondary schools while primary and middle schools would also be upgraded.
its a very good effort of the govt. It should be done on most prior level. But what will be the case of headmasters and headmistresses of middle schools. Would they be pushed back to work as SSTs or they will also get incentives. Plz reply.
