A young girl, attempted suicide on Tuesday after her father disallowed her admission in a college. Mehwish, a resident of Sarwar Colony, wanted to pursue further studies after clearing her SSC exam, but her father, a security guard by profession, could not afford to spend more money on his daughter’s education.
After trying to convince her father again on Tuesday, Mehwish locked herself in a room at her house and attempted to commit suicide by shooting herself in the stomach with her father’s pistol. She was admitted to Tehsil Hospital initially, and later referred to a hospital in Faisalabad owing to her serious condition.
