The Ambassador of Brazil to Pakistan Alfredo Leoni during a visit to the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Tuesday said that Pakistan can benefit from the growing Brazilian economy and development by initiating some bilateral trade and starting commercial, technological, cultural, academic and social development projects with Brazil.
He was accompanied by NUML Rector Major Gen (r) Masood Hasan and other officials.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Though Pakistan and Brazil have cooperation and collaboration in a numbers of areas, there is still a great room to improve upon this cooperation and bilateral relations.
Brazil is a major contributor to the progress of fellow developing nations in Latin America, Africa and Asia and it has been realized that a little more interaction and collaboration between Pakistan and Brazil can benefit the peoples of both the countries economically, politically and diplomatically”.
The ambassador said that that the Brazilian government and embassy were ready to provide every moral and material support for the establishment of a Portuguese language department at NUML to cater to the need of the people who wanted to study Portuguese and who also wanted to know the Brazilian society and culture.
“Brazilian government is announcing undergraduate and post-graduate scholarships for Pakistani students every year”, he added.
