The Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) has advised the industrial units located within the Korangi Industrial Area (KIA) to comply with the fire and safety requirements in their respective factories to avoid any chance of fire hazard, said the association in a statement issued on Tuesday.
Following the meeting of KATI’s executive committee held here on Monday at the association’s premises, its chairman Ehtesham Uddin issued a circular to all the members and industrial units to contact KATI in case of any harassment by any government functionary even after their compliance to the fire and safety regulations.
He said an exclusive cell had been established at KATI in this regard which would also provide advisory to the industries. Earlier, the patron in-chief KATI SM Muneer inaugurated KATI building’s newly constructed third floor by unveiling the plaque. Muneer appreciated the efforts of the executive committee of the KATI, particularly chairman, head of building committee Mian Zahid Hussain, who devoted their time for achieving the task.
