Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar met with the new President of the UN General Assembly Vuk Jeremic on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Congratulating Jeremic on the assumption of presidency of the General Assembly, Foreign Minister Khar assured him of Pakistan’s full support and cooperation. The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan strongly believed that international relations should be conducted on the basis of principles and that the UN was the best forum for addressing the global challenges of today. The Foreign Minister also recalled Jeremic’s successful visit to Pakistan in December 2011.
Jeremic assured the Foreign Minister that he would try to push for a comprehensive reform to make the Security Council more representative, democratic and accountable.
