Zamir Akram in OIC makes a strong protest over blasphemous movie

Pakistan on behalf of the OIC has strongly condemned the US blasphemous film describing it a blatant attempt to provoke religious hatred‚ discrimination and intolerance.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva Zamir Akram made a strong protest in the human rights council on Tuesday.
He said OIC has repeatedly called on the government’s concern to take action to avert offensive acts of blasphemy but nothing has been done on the excuse this would be a violation of freedom of expression.
He said these despicable acts cannot be described as exercises in freedom of expression. He said these acts are deliberate attempts to defame denigrate and vilify Muslims and their beliefs.
Ambassador Akram called on all states to take measures for implementation of the OIC resolution combating intolerance‚ incitement to violence and violence against persons based on religion and belief adopted in 2011 to avoid recurrence of the acts of blasphemy.
