Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over Azmat-e-Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen Conference at CM Secretariat, in which unanimous approval was given to the following joint declaration.
“On the occasion of Azmat-e-Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen Conference, this representative gathering of Ulema and Mashaikh-e-Islam of all schools of thought of the country express their extreme anger and resentment over the sacrilegious film against the Holy Prophet (PBUH). All the participants of the conference are unanimous that this profane act is an open challenge of anti-Islam forces to the two billion Muslims of the world.
The participants of the conference are united to defeat the wicked conspiracies of anti-Islam elements. We demand that the federal government should play its due role at this critical juncture. We also support the demand of Punjab CM that the federal government should immediately convene a meeting of the ambassadors of Muslim countries in Islamabad for evolving a joint strategy against the movie and holding of an of OIC assembly in Madina.”
The participants requested religious scholars to promote unity and tolerance amongst their ranks.
