Gun attacks, road accident claims 7 lives in Karachi

At least four persons were killed in several incidents of shooting, while three people died in a road accident in the port city on Monday.
According to details, unidentified armed men opened fire at three persons in the Jaffer Tayyar Society in Malir, injuring three persons. The wounded were rushed to Jinnah Hospital, where a man identified as Sohaib Raza succumbed to his injuries. The other two persons, identified as Mohsin Raza and Hassan Raza, are under treatment at the hospital.
Elsewhere in Sector 5-C/3 of North Karachi, assassins shot dead one person and fled from the scene. In the Baloch Colony Bridge area, armed attackers gunned down a man who could not be identified.
Meanwhile, the bullet riddled and tortured dead body of a youth was recovered from Agra Taj, Lyari area. Police said the youth was kidnapped, tortured and then shot dead, and his body was dumped in the area.
In Garden area, unidentified gunmen opened fire at the vehicle of Farhat Naqvi, a member of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA). He remained safe in the attack but his brother in-law Nasir Hussain Rizvi received injuries.
KBA President Mehmoodul Hassan condemned the attack, and the lawyers boycotted local courts in protest on Monday.
Separately, thee persons died when an over speeding dumper crushed them while crossing Super Highway near Barack petrol pump. The bodies of the deceased were taken to a hospital for medico-legal requirements.
Meanwhile, several people were injured in various incidents of shooting across the city.
