Pakistan Peoples party (PPP) Deputy Parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly Shoukat Mehmud Basra said that leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) were power hungry mongers and were leveling fabricated corruption charges against the PPP-led Federal government to cover up their own failures in the province. Talking to sources at the opposition leader’s chamber he said,”Sharif brothers have forgotten about their corruption worth billions of rupees from which they built ‘The Raiwind palace’.” Basra said that democratic institutions were stable owing to reconciliation policy of President Asif Ali Zardari. He said that during the last four and half years the country has made a tremendous progress in federalism and constitutionalism. Referring to cases instituted against him by the Punjab government, he said that he was a follower of the Bhuttos and would not be deterred by under hand tactics of the opposition benches. He advised Sharif brothers to work for the welfare of people of Punjab by doing away with corruption and cronyism.

  1. Now the writer wants to defend Punjab Government on flimsy reasons. It is like calling black a white. Water is standing in the infrastructure for days that was recently built and it will crumble to ground soon as it is not built with proper drainage. There is no planning in these things. Money is thrown in Lahore “Only”. Please give food where the mouth is. Punjab Government spent millions on lap top scheme for cheap popularity among youth while people of Punjab are dying with hunger. Punjab Govt spent millions on its publicity while flood victims are waiting for relief.. How hilarious…
