Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohammad Zaka Asrhaf on Thursday expressed the optimism that national women team will live up to the expectations by putting up a good show in the Women T-20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
“team is a combination of talent and potential and what is needed a collective show on part of players to produce encouraging results in the grand event “,he said during his meeting with the Sri Lanka bound women team here on Thursday at national cricket academy.
PCB Chief said the women team will follow the performance of the Pak men team during the Cup to fetch productive results. He wished the team good luck .
Zaka Ashraf hoped that Pakistan men team will beat New Zealand in its opening match of the T-20 World Cup to take a good start in the competition. “ New Zealand is a good side but I am confident that our team will produce a show of collective efforts and hard work to achieve success “,he said.
He praised the leadership qualities of Muhammad Hafeez and said the entire team is motivated under his captaincy to throw a brave challenge in the mega event.
Chairman PCB said efforts would be made to arrange good number of Indian visas for the Pakistani spectators intending to visit India during Pak-India series later this year in December.
“ I had taken up this issue (issuance of maximum number of visas) with the Indian Foreign Minister during his recent visit to Pakistan and I would be meeting the Indian High Commissioner next week to discuss the same issue and I am hopeful that Pakistani spectators would be accommodated in a large scale to visit India“,he added.
Zaka who is the Chairman of the ACC Development Committee, disclosed that the President of the Board of Control for Cricket In India would not be attending the Development committee meeting being held on September 22 at Islamabad.
“ A Vice President from BCCI will be attending the meeting which will focus on the promotion of cricket in Asia”. said the Chairman PCB.
