Pak-Mauritius lay emphasis for increasing trade

The Deputy High Commissioner of Mauritius, Prabhakar Gokulsing, called on Federal Minister of Commerce Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Thursday and discussed matters pertaining to bilateral relations.
The Federal Minister said that relations between Pakistan & Mauritius were important and they should meet regularly to enhance ties and trade. He said that though we have good trade relations but there is still more scope and the trade should not be restricted to a few subjects. He cited this meeting to be very important. The Federal Minister also referred to high level exchanges between both the countries and said that they are very useful in creating better understanding between government and people Pakistan & Mauritius.
H.E.D. Prabhakar Gokulsing, agreed with Federal Minister that it was of fundamental importance to build a relationship based on mutual respects. He emphasized the fact that 10 lac tourists come to Mauritius every year and there it is a huge market. He showed interest of his government, encouraging investor to come to Mauritius.
The Ambassador said that future relations between Pakistan & Mauritius should be based on market access and trade especially in context of Mauritius acting as a door way to African market for Pakistani products.

  1. the upper class in mauritius don't want pakistani business men to ganerate good business there smoothly,
    as my servey, mauritians middle class fear to coperate with pakistani business men because of the above mentioned reason.
    I request the govt. to action on this and give a smooth way to enter Africa.
