Security forces on Wednesday claimed to have cleared Batwar valley in Bajaur Agency of militants, saying the insurgents had fled due to heavy losses and left behind 29 dead bodies. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants suffered heavy casualties during a clash with security forces in Batwar valley, Bajaur Agency. The military had launched an offensive in Batwar valley around two weeks ago over reports that militants from Afghanistan were intruding into the border area of Batwar. The intruding militants had also occupied some hills in the area, the press release said. However, after the successful operation, the militants received heavy casualties and escaped from the valley leaving behind 29 dead bodies which are now in the custody of security forces. The Batwar valley has now been cleansed of intruders and is under full control of security forces, the statement added.
