LSE flat, ISE up

Bearish trend prevailed in Lahore Stock Exchange on Wednesday as it shed 4.62 points, following the LSE-25 index opened with 4249.12 and closed at 4244.50 points.
The market’s overall situation, however, corresponded to an upward trend as it remained at 2.999 million shares to close against previous turnover of 3.050 million shares, showing an upward move of 50,300 shares. While, out of the total 100 active scrips 25 moved up, 58 remained equal and 17 shed values.
Pakistan Petroleum Limited, Pakistan State Oil Company Limited and Dawood Hercules Corporation were Major Gainer of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 3.80, Rs 2.30 and Rs 1.90 respectively.
Nishat Mills Limited, Fauji Fertilizer (Bin Qasim) and Engro Foods Limited lost their per share value by Rs 1.55, Re 0.59 and Re 0.48 respectively.
The Volume Leader of the day included NIB Bank Limited with 975,000 shares, The Bank of Punjab Limited with 366,000 shares and Fauji Cement Company Limited with 362,000 shares.
ISE GAINS 25.65 POINTS: Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE-10) here on Wednesday witnessed bullish trend as the index gained 25.65 points to close at 3196.63 as compared to the previous day’s trading.
Local buying has caused the bullish rally in the local stock market, said Stock Analyst, M.M.Hassan while talking to APP on Wednesday.
He said that the low-priced shares were remained the most traded shares in the markets. Besides, the punters has also booked the profits whenever the index went up to reduce the risk resulting a decline in the turnover of the market, he added.
Of total shares traded were 55,500, which was down by 27,000 as compared it with a day earlier’s closing.
Out of 128 companies’ shares traded, the price of 69 was increased while the price of 59 decreased.
The price of top gainer Mitchells Fruit Farma was increased by 10.00 while the price of top loser Siemens Pakistan Engineering decreased by Rs 22.11.
K.E.S.C, Lucky Cement and Engro Polymer & Chemicls remained volume leaders on Wednesday, with volume of 15,500, 13,500 and 10,000 shares respectively.
