The final meeting of Steering Committee held at the Expo Centre finalised the preparations for the smooth conduct of IDEAS-2012, scheduled from Nov 7-11 this year.
This was stated by Maj Gen Tahir Ashraf Khan, DG DEPO while addressing the meeting on Wednesday.
Participation of world renowned foreign and local defence-related companies, along with high-level defence delegations from around the world, in IDEAS-2012 will mark Pakistan’s presence in Defence Production field at the global level.
The DG DEPO informed the house that nearly 69 foreign companies and more than 100 local firms are set to participate in IDEAS 2012, whereas, a large number of delegates including senior Armed Forces officials, bureaucrats and defence strategists from various countries around the globe will also attend the event.
Taking stock of the preparations for IDEAS-2012, DG DEPO expressed his satisfaction over the planning of pre-event activities and arrangements required to facilitate delegates and exhibitors, however, he cautioned the participants of the meeting that complacency should not be allowed to creep in at all, till culmination of this mega event.
Regarding visa formalities, he informed that the Immigration Authorities at Pakistani Airports are authorized to issue 30 days Visa on Arrival (VOA) to the businessmen entering Pakistan from these countries.
In the end, DG OEPO wished all the members of Steering Committee a resounding success in the respective sphere of their responsibilities.
