Police makes headway by nabbing major gangs

On the directions of Additional Inspector General/Capital City Police Officer (Addl.IG/CCPO) Muhammad Aslam Tareen, three gangs were busted: seven criminals from the Muhammad Irfan alias Rizwan gang were arrested, Naeem alias Naeema car lifter gang and Imran alias Mani dacoit gang, along with their ringleaders, were arrested by the Investigation Police, Saddar division.
The arrested criminals were involved in vehicle lifting and snatching, street crimes and robberies. Recoveries made from them include seven cars, two motorcycles, rickshaw, gold ornaments, cell phones, laptops etc. valuing Rs 4.72 million along with pistols and bullets.
CCPO Aslam directed Deputy Inspector General Investigation Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed and Senior Superintendent Police Investigation Baber Bakhat Qureshi, to initiate steps to curb vehicle lifting and snatching, street crimes and robbery, etc.
Teams of policemen were formed, which worked day and night, and were successful in busting the three gangs and arresting its members, along with their ringleaders. As many as 14 cases in the Police Stations Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Nishtar Colony, Kotlakhpat, Mustafabad, Sunder, Sattokatla, Muslim Town, Liaqatabad, Pattoki, Pholnagar and Changa Manga of District Kasur have been traced from them while the accused also disclosed 28 cases of different offences.
