Boy murders parents, sisters ‘in the name of love’

A boy allegedly killed his parents and two sisters for reportedly not allowing him to continue relations with a girl. The incident happened in the Colony area in of Market Police Station late on Sunday night. Station House Officer (SHO) Wahid Bux Laghari told APP that the accused, 15-year-old Sharik had been arrested. The SHO said that the boy had earlier denied committing murder, and accused his paternal uncle and a cousin of the crime. However, the boy’s only surviving younger sister Zulash told the police that her brother had killed her parents and sister.
“He also tried to kill me but I took a copy of Holy Quran in my hands, and pleaded him to spare my life,” she told the police. The police identified the murdered parents as Muhammad Akram (father), Shagufta (mother) and sisters Anisha and Varsha. Three of the victims died before reaching the hospital, while Varsha succumbed to her injuries on Monday afternoon after remaining in the intensive care unit for over 6 hours. Akram was a lineman working for the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO).
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Aijaz Bhatti told APP that the police had earlier arrested Aslam and Jabbar, the relatives accused by the boy. However, he said the police released them after the boy confessed committing murders following the testimony by his surviving sister. The police did not register the First Information Report (FIR) until the filing of
this story.
