Army continues rescue operations in flood affected areas of Sindh

People in Sindh are left to fend for themselves amidst floating corpses as a team of 1000 army men equipped with MI-17 boats rescue stranded people in district Kashmor only.
In Kandhkot and Tangwani of Distirct Kashmor over 3,800 people along with their cattle and personal belongings have been rescued and relocated to dry land. De Watering pumps at Badani, Raees Atta Ullah Bhutto village, Meva Khan, Kot Omer Bhutto and Bakhsha Pur are being run round the clock Army troops have also installed de watering pumps in Tehsil Kandkot to clear the area of stagnant rain water. Relief activities are also in full swing at Jacobabad and Ghotki.. Army troops have also rescued 2500 people from Tehsil Thul and surrounding areas of Baho Khoso. Army has also established a tent village in collaboration with local administration where cooked meals clean drinking water and medicines are being provided. However many towns and villages of Jacobabad are still under six feet of water
Meanwhile no dewatering pumps have been put to work in District Sukkur, Shikarpur, Larkana and Khairpur. According to the official figures, more than a dozen primary schools, 3,000 mud houses and 1,000 concrete houses have been found damaged in the areas cleared of water so far.
