‘People must travel through registered operators for Haj, Umra’

Punjab Tourism Department (PTD) has set up a window to entertain complaints of citizens traveling for pilgrimage through private agents.
Deputy Controller, Tourist Service PTD,Muhammad Nasim Laber has cautioned pilgrims to travel through authorised and registered tour operators and obtain an authentic copy of the agreement clearly mentioning the total cost of the package along with its terms and conditions. They have also been advised to make payment only through a cross cheque to tour operators.
The government has decided to take strict action against registered Haj and Umra tour operators if they violate the terms and conditions of the package promised to the Pilgrims. “Every facility that has been charged for should be delivered by the tour operator, and if not, action will be taken against them, and the money will be recovered and returned to the aggrieved persons,” he added.
He said that any aggrieved person from the province may send his complaint to him or Assistant Controller,Wazir
Ahmad Bosan by post to 37-N Model Town Extension, near Nespak, Lahore or fax it to 042-99232411.
The complaint must contain all necessary information with the correct name and complete address of the tour operator.
