Three people were killed and more than 100 people were injured on Wednesday when two passenger trains collided.
Millat Express and Shalimar Express trains collided near Bin Qasim Town, 50 kilometers from Karachi city, police said.
Rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to Jinnah and other hospitals.
The Divisional Superintendent (DS) of Railway, Shoaib Adil said Shalimar Express collided with Millat Express’s rear carriage on the down track, derailing its three carriages,
He said engine of the Shalimar Express was also partially damaged.
Rescue teams were faced severe hardships due to the darkness in the area during search for the injured passengers in overturned carriages.
Police and Rangers also arrived at the scene and joined the rescue efforts.
