District administration directed to utilize available resources to eliminate dengue

The Rawalpindi district administration has been directed to utilize all available resources to eliminate dengue larvae from the Rawalpindi district.
The authorities concerned had also been instructed to accelerate the ongoing campaign against dengue to save the citizens from the disease.
The District Coordination Officer (DCO) while issuing special instructions said that the officers concerned should not sit in the offices for the next two weeks as these days were critical and crucial for the nurturing of dengue larvae and the officers concerned should work in the field to supervise the campaign and monitor the field teams to make this campaign a complete success. Negligence in this regard would not be tolerated at any cost, he added.
According to the city district government spokesman, the DCO had also directed the WASA officials to make utmost efforts to stop the leakage of water pipelines and urged them to focus on the places where the water tankers were parked and to maintain proper cleanliness on daily basis.
The DCO directed the officials concerned to clear off the accumulated rain water, especially from the union council Shakrial, Pir Vedhai bus stand, Nawaz Sharif Park and from other vulnerable places of the city. The city should be kept clean including the government offices on daily basis to keep the dengue virus in check, he added.
The DCO said that the campaign to check tyre shops and warehouses should also be accelerated and those who were violating the orders should be dealt in accordance with the law.
The DCO directed the health officials to continue the outdoor and indoor surveillance campaign to spread awareness about the precautionary and preventive measures against dengue larvae among the general public.
