The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is set to build a food court in Sector G-8 to attract visitors who have abandoned the Melody Park.
CDA Chairman Farkhand Iqbal briefed regarding the plan during his visit to the sector to inspect the state of cleanliness, road repairs and other facilities for the residents. All senior CDA officers were accompanying the chairman. He interacted with the residents and traders of the sector who registered their complaints regarding roads maintenance and lack of civic facilities including a food court.
The chairman also visited a football ground in the sector and directed the Environmental Wing to pave a jogging track and ensure elimination of dengue larvae. To a question on encroachments, he said that the issue could easily be resolved if traders act as informers to the CDA staff.
CDA had undertaken a survey of government, semi-government and private buildings to examine whether they were fire proof and equipped with fire fighting equipments and emergency exits.
Iqbal said that despite facing a financial crunch, CDA had launched various mega development projects to address water shortages, public transport problems and power outages in the city.
