Protest over refusal of admission by FJWU

The successful girl students of intermediate examinations and their parents have voiced a strong protest against the refusal for admission by the management of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU). “We have passed intermediate examination from the Rawalpindi education board but the university authorities have refused to grant admission on the pretext that the due date for admission has elapsed”, said a group of anguished students. The result for intermediate examination was announced by the board on September 8 and we had come here to seek admission but the guards had forcibly prevented us from entering into the premises of the university, said one student complainingly. Another girl student inquiringly said that this was the only women university in the city and if its doors were shut down on them, then where should they go. Another group of students said that they were refused entry by the guards on the pretext that the last date for admission was August 30, adding that they were told that the date was extended by the university till September 15. They said this extension was meant for those students who had already filed their admission forms.
