Famous comedian Lehri was laid to rest amid tears and sobs on Friday. A large number of his fans, family members, neighbors, politicians, social workers , artists and students attended the funeral. Safirullah Siddiqui,aka Lehri was born on January 2, 1929. He made his film debut in 1950’s. Lehri had 225 films to his credit with Anokhi’(1956) as his debut and ‘Dhanak’(1986) as his last production. He was diabetic and was put on a ventilator because he could not maintain consciousness due to worsening chest congestion and water in the lungs.
