US had nothing to do with video that led to protests: Hillary

The United States Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has said that it should be clear to all people around the world that the United States government had nothing to do with video that is circulating on the internet that has led to protests in a number of countries around the world and they absolutely reject its message and its contents.
In a statement, she said that “America’s commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation.”
“We are the home to people of all religions; including millions of Muslims and we have the greatest respect for people of faith. To us, to me, this video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage and even violence”, she stated.
“Many Muslims in the United States and around the world have spoken out about this. Violence like this has no place in religion and is no way to honor religion. Islam, like other religions, respects the fundamental dignity of human beings, and it is a violation of that fundamental dignity to wage attacks on innocents. And as long as, there are those willing to shed innocent life in the name of God, the world will never know a true and lasting peace”, she added.
Hillary Clinton stated that it was especially wrong for violence to be directed against diplomatic missions, as these are places whose very purpose was peaceful – to promote better understanding across countries and cultures.
“To attack an embassy is to attack the idea that we can work together to build a better future”, she stated.
She said that it is hard for some people around the world to understand why the United States doesn’t just completely shut down this video.
“I would note that such a thing – in today’s world, with today’s technologies is impossible. But even if it were possible, our country has a long tradition of free expression, which is protected by the law. Our government does not – and cannot – stop individual citizens from expressing their views, however hateful they might be”, she added.
She said that there were different views around the world about the outer limits of free speech and free expression. But there should be no debate that violence in response to speech is not acceptable.
“We all, whether we are leaders in government, leaders in civil society, or religious leaders have to draw the line at violence and any responsible leader should be standing up now against violence, just as they should be standing up for religious tolerance”, she said.
She wished that this would be the last time they had to contend with this kind of situation. But unfortunately, that was not the world they live in.
She said that there would always be a tiny minority of people who want to peddle this kind of trash.
“So let us commit to working together not just today but in the future, to stand against violence and stand up for religious tolerance”, she concluded.

Hillary Clinton's statement may help diffuse the situation but by no means put out the fire ignited by American policies in the Arab world.The obnoxious film made about the Holy Prophet(PBUH) is a catalyst in the situation created by USA and Britain by imposing their type of governments run by their stooges.The type of democracy imposed in Middle East is a carefully calculated move to create instability in the region.US and Britain's involvement has not brought any stability in Libya nor in Iraq.Now Syria.Iran has not been spared too.Its about time Middle Eastern people opened their eyes to this power game and stopped being brain washed by these two satanic powers.They should sit down and discuss peace and resolve their problems without interference from USA and its allies.Civilization began in the Middle East – not in USA

    • Who told you that civilization began in the most lifeless and hostile deserts of middle east. People from middle east are least developed intellectually even today. Thank the white man for inventing engines for auto vehicles and other things that need oil, otherwise the middle east people would have been sleeping with camels in caves. Islam is not even 1500 yr old while man has been living on this planet for several thousand years. The trouble is within Muslim world itself, not interference by the US. Muslims stick together only for destructive purposes.
      Film only depicts the truth about Islam and Muslims. Watch it and than comment.

      • Clearly you have your head up your a??. You don't know anything about history. A long list of top physicists, mathematicians, artists, scholars were Muslims. This is during the Muslim golden era when west was plagued with viruses and wars (dark ages as you guys call it). Most of the western accomplishments of this era are based on the work done by Muslim scientists from the Muslim golden era.

    • May be you should reveal your real identity instead of hiding behind some fake name so that we can have a meaningful conversation. I have watched the first few minutes of the film and there was nothing but profanity against the most revered and beloved figure in Islam.

The thing is that no one can control others,the bigger problem is that we the muslims are quick to get mad at non muslims for saying something improper or disrespecting the prophet or the Holy Quran all the while we the muslims do that on daily basis,when you lie,you are disrespecting the Prophet,when you steal,when you cheat,when you do many other things,you are disrespecting the Prophet,the Holy Quran.But we are so darn proud to admit it.Let the world do as they please,if you feel you are right then keep doing the right things and at the end,let GOD, ALLAH judge the non believers and let him punish them.I'm not going to sit here and get in a war of words with some person claiming the white man is superior.But I will say this,Islam may be only 1500 years old but that did'nt stop it from being the fastest growing religion in the world.Majority of the world is muslim,but thats a whole another issue most aren't ready to discuss.And one more thing,white man is a minority even here in the USA, BUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

    • Well said. I have yet to see high profile muslim clerics, like the Imam of Mecca to come forward and ask for patience. These Mullahs are quick to incite people, who for some reason still believe on these people who have no credibility at all, but have never tried to calm people down. The problem lies within and not with the others.

So while others are just talking,we are actually doing it,so before we go judging the non believers for disrespecting our faith and religion,we best look at out own actions first.Don't believe me,lets look at this way,if you have 100 people praying in the mosque,I am willing to bet that atleast 6 out of 10 drink,7 out 10 lie every day,9 out of 10 cheat every chance they get.If thats not going tatally against the Holy Quran and the teachings of the Prophet then what is,some non muslim saying bad things about Islam??? My point is this,it does'nt matter what people say or do,ALLAH said we are responsible for our own actions,he's not going to ask you about others,he is going to ask you what you did.By the way,I include myself in all of this.

This would make him serve as an example for ppl in future who bring forth hate in a populist society. The matter of creating social understanding b/w different religions r going from current distrust with US (in particular) to unspeakable lengths of repercussions even by the sane citizens of civil societ.y

    The response by the US on such acts committed by its citizens who r a part of it while they r in US, one can only expect that it is going to create disastrous consequences for the peace that is left in the world.

    US needs to urgently seek this as a problem for which strict measures are needed to be taken,, and less protection should be given to such hate mongerers from onwards.
