Another shoe factory caught fire due to short circuiting caused by substandard wiring on Thursday. The fire engulfed the factory located on Ravi Road around dawn and fire brigades along with rescue teams rushed to the scene and put the fire out within an hour. Raw materials estimated to be worth millions of rupees have been burnt to ashes; however, no human life was lost in the incident. The factory owner has held WAPDA responsible for the accident and demanded provincial government compensate his losses.
