Court orders for presentation of challan in Rimsha Masih case on Sep 17

Civil Judge Islamabad expressed annoyance over non presentation of challan by police in Rimsha Masih case and directed the investigation officer to submit complete challan on September 17.
Civil Judge Islamabad Aamir Aziz took up Rimsha Masih case for hearing on Friday. Rao Abdul Rahim, counsel for initiator of the case while raising objection over non appearance of the accused Rimsha Masih in the court and non presentation of challan of the case by the police took the plea that prime minister of Pakistan appears in the court so that contempt of court is not committed and on the other hand Rimsha Masih who is involved in committing desecration of the Holy Quran does not appear in the court. The accused should appear in the court now as she had been released on bail and was not in the custody of police, he argued.
He requested the court to cancel the bail of Rimsha Masih due to non appearance in the court by her. He also objected to non filing of challan of the case by the police and requested the court not to grant more time to police in this respect.
The judge expressed annoyance over non presentation of the challan of case and sought reason on this count.
Munir Jaffri, investigation officer of the case took the plea before the court that the case was very sensitive and some other facts are unfolding therefore, more time be allowed for presenting challan.
The court allowed 3 days more for presentation of challan besides directing the accused Rimsha Masih to appear before it on next hearing.
The hearing was adjourned till September 17.
